The Bread of Life Food Pantry is located at 105 Prairie Street in Apple River, IL. Hours are by appointment only - call 815-594-2252.

When you arrive for the first time to register, you will be asked to show proper identification as well as proof of residency. People who reside outside of the Apple River area will be assisted and then given information on the location of a pantry closer to their home.

Bread of Life’s volunteers work hard to ensure that each client receives needed supplies once a month. Additional visits can be made under special circumstances.

We are grateful for your generosity! Money donations may be made payable to the Bread of Life Food Pantry and brought into any Apple River State Bank branch or mailed to Apple River State Bank, 135 E Main St #1, Warren, IL 61087.

Food and household donations that are very much needed! Call 815-594-2252 for drop off. Items include:

Canned goods – Spaghetti O’s (especially with meat), ravioli, tuna, coffee, chili, baked beans, soup, canned fruit and veggies

Boxed goods – cereal, mac & cheese, pancake mix, pudding mix, cake mix / frosting, Hamburger Helper

Other foods – peanut butter, spaghetti sauce, apple sauce, cooking oil, ketchup, mustard, pasta, salad dressing, syrup, stuffing

Personal care items – toothbrushes, toothpaste, shampoo, deodorant

Household items - laundry detergent, dish soap, toilet paper, paper towels

Please note that we have a freezer for meat, but no refrigerator space.

The Bread of Life Food Pantry is a cooperative effort among Apple River United Methodist Church, First Presbyterian Church and St. Joseph’s Catholic Church.
