Welcome!

We are a small church with a big heart! We have loved and served Jesus Christ and our rural community for over 150 years with great joy. We started in 1858, a few years after the railroad came to town. Sunday school was even in the railroad office for a while! The famous evangelist and circuit rider Peter Cartwright preached the first sermon at church. Since then, we’ve had two church buildings, 50+ pastors, and countless saints in our midst. Please come worship with us on Sunday mornings at 9 am and explore all the multi-generational ministries and opportunities that we offer.

Our pastor is Libby Rutherford. She received her Master of Divinity and Certificate of Spiritual Direction from North Park Theological Seminary, and is a recovering lawyer. She and her husband Jay live in the countryside between Apple River and Scales Mound.
